According to Reuters, internet connections in Syria are down again. The rest of globe is no longer able to communicate with them and including basic phone lines into Damascus from other countries were halted. A U.S. web tracking firm confirmed the news Wednesday.
Apparently, this is the sixth time communication has refrained from working since tension has risen against president Bashar al-Assad. The SANA, state news agency claimed a bad fiber-optic cable was responsible and was informed that maintenance was in progress. However, a US tracker firm believes it most likely occurred by actions controlled by the government in attempts to prevent Syrians from listening to the news of any upcoming U.N. resolution on Syria.
Less than a week ago Syria’s blackout lasted a gruelling 19 hours.
